THE SNAKE IN MY ROOM
“This room is too dirty!” I said to
myself as I attempted to clean it, then, I saw the tiny end of a snake in the
corner of my room. I ran to pick a broom with the hope of killing it with the
bunchy head but I didn’t imagine how big it would be. Getting there, it has
left, Looking anxious as I tried to trace its steps, I saw the big Python
gazing at me in patience. In a tension-ed mentality, I hit its head severally
with the bunchy head of the broom; I still
felt the broom has no effect on it as it keeps coming closer, then I threw off
the broom and ran to the highest edge of the bed. It kept on coming, then to my
surprise, it climbed the bed I thought was too tall for it to climb, as it
headed to my direction, it cornered me up, with its head brutally injured, it
made the scary shout to attack. Then I woke up from my dream. The lord
ministered to my heart with an instant question “Why will you pick a weapon to
fight the snake in your room when you are yet to know how big it is?
Yes, the snake in your room is the sin the devil has put in your life. Just as
the dreamer saw the tail of the snake when he decided to clean his room, so
will God show you the tail of your sin at the point of salvation for you to
acknowledge its presence and for you to know yourself as a sinner. Not for you
to apply your human knowledge to stop the sin. God could have chased the snake
out of the boy’s room without even letting its blood stain his floor. So, he is
the one to forgive you of the sin. Since you won’t forgive your own sin, being
in his presence all the time will solve the problem for you to remain holy.
Why was the snake hiding in the corner of his room? Because it knew the dreamer
has power over it. But when the dreamer proved not knowing how to use the
power, the snake confronted him fearlessly.
Do not prove your cowardice before the serpent (Devil) by trying with your
knowledge to overcome sin. Always cling to God the Father and his Word.
Act on This, God bless you.
